Yamaha RD350 RD400 UK Model Guide

There is some model confusion for the RD range.

Here is a 70's guide to the range that we had in the UK and Europe..

1970/71/72
Yamaha 350 YR5........(Picture from one of my orignal sales brochures)

1973
Yamaha RD350........ (My picture from 2009 RD Rally)

1974
Yamaha RD350A ...(Picture from one of my orignal sales brochures)

1975
Yamaha RD350B........ (My picture from 2009 RD Rally)
In the UK this bike was mostly silver

1976
Yamaha RD400C.... Very early models had wire spoke wheels

My 400 is a 1976 RD400C with the USA graphic design.

1977
Yamaha RD400D... some call it the RD400DX
(Picture from one of my orignal sales brochures)

1978
Yamaha RD400E.... This bike has electronic ignition as standard.
(Picture from one of my orignal sales brochures)

1979
Yamaha RD400F
(Picture from one of my orignal sales brochures)

1980
Yamaha RD350LC was introduced.

In the UK and Europe - we never had the Daytona model

The RD250 range was identicle except they came in different colours

I dod have a couple of Sales Brochures with the Daytona on. I got those brochure from America. As I said above.

The DAYTONA was never an official model imported into Europe. There are a few in the UK which have been imported in the last few years.

I have a mate who has a brand new one.

Looking at the video - its hard to see the detail but I don't think there was a CBX1000 in it.

I had a closer look and paused picture - NO CBX1000 in the video

Yep you can't see one in this movie cause that bike was never used during the shooting of this movie. An actual CBX would look something like this

As I've mentioned earlier most of this bikes was being kept as private collection so you cant really see one on the road. That bike in that movie is actually a Suzuki GSX750(if not my mistaken)

Not even sure about that - when I paused the film I could only see two exhaust downpipes.

The film is such bad quality its hard to tell wot the bike was but you can definately see its not a six cylinder.

Wot do you call the disco dance the two chaps did in the middle of the clip?
